[ 01 ] The Problem

Your website
is costing you
jobs every week.

You don’t need us to tell you the phones aren’t ringing the way they should. The question is why. Five reasons we see in nearly every contractor site we audit:

01

It loads too slow.

The average homeowner bounces in 3 seconds. The average contractor site loads in 6-9 seconds. The math is brutal.

02

The mobile experience is broken.

70% of contractor searches happen on phones. Pinch-and-zoom navigation, microscopic phone numbers, forms that don’t fit the screen — that’s a lost job every time.

03

There’s no clear path to call.

Your phone number is in the footer, in 12-point gray. The CTA is “Submit” on a contact form. Homeowners who want to book don’t want to type — they want to tap.

04

It’s a template — and Google knows.

Every roofer in your city has a near-identical site from the same agency. Google’s ranking algorithms discount templated patterns. So does any homeowner who’s seen four of them in a row.

[ 02 ] What It Should Do

What a real
contractor site
does instead.

Every site we build is engineered around six things. Get these right and the phone starts ringing. Miss any of them and you’re leaking jobs every day.

// 01

Loads in under a second.

Custom code on Cloudflare’s edge means your site arrives faster than your competitors’ — anywhere in your service area, on any connection.

// 02

Click-to-call hero.

Phone number front and center on every page, sticky on mobile, tap-to-dial. Zero friction between a homeowner’s thumb and your phone ringing.

// 03

Service-specific landing pages.

A dedicated page for each top revenue service — AC repair, water heater install, panel upgrade. Each one ranks individually for its own keywords.

// 04

Service-area pages.

One page per city or neighborhood you serve, written for that specific area. So when a homeowner searches “plumber [their city],” you’re the local answer.

// 05

Instant-quote conversion paths.

Short, smart forms placed where intent peaks. Pre-fill what we can. Capture what you need: name, phone, what they need, where they are.

// 06

Reviews & trust signals above the fold.

License numbers, insurance status, years in business, real review counts pulled from Google. Authority that converts skeptics into callers.

[ 03 ] The Difference

Why we don’t
touch WordPress.

WordPress powers a lot of contractor sites because it’s cheap to spin up and easy to template. It’s also slow, plugin-fragile, and a security liability that compounds every month. Side-by-side:

Hand-Coded
What we build
  • Written one site at a time, fresh for your business
  • No CMS, no database, no plugin update wheel
  • Deploys to Cloudflare’s global edge in milliseconds
  • Zero plugin or theme vulnerability surface
  • Sub-second load times, 95+ PageSpeed scores
  • Mobile-first responsive markup, accessibility-clean
  • You own the entire codebase — leave with everything
  • 17 years of dev experience under every line
WordPress
What most agencies sell
  • Pre-built theme, customized to look “different”
  • 20-40 plugins doing what custom code does in one file
  • Shared hosting with average 4-8 second load times
  • Constant security patches; one missed update = hacked site
  • Database queries on every page = slower under load
  • Bloated markup that Google’s Core Web Vitals penalize
  • Locked into the CMS, the host, and often the agency
  • Every roofer in town gets a near-identical build
[ 04 ] What’s Included

Everything you
need to launch.

One project, one engagement. Every build includes the full stack — strategy, design, code, deployment, and a 30-day refinement period after launch.

  • Discovery & Strategy A 90-minute working session to map your services, service area, top revenue priorities, and competition. Output: a written brief.
  • Custom Design Mood direction → layout → high-fidelity design, presented for your sign-off. Never a template, never reused.
  • Hand-Coded Build Production HTML/CSS/JS, written one file at a time. No CMS, no database, no plugin dependencies.
  • Service Landing Pages 5-8 service-specific pages (AC repair, water heater install, etc.), each ranked individually for its own keyword.
  • Service-Area Pages Dedicated pages for your top 5-10 cities or neighborhoods, written for the geographic intent of each market.
  • Conversion Architecture Click-to-call hero, sticky mobile call/text bar, smart inline quote forms, instant-quote modals.
  • Schema & SEO Foundation LocalBusiness schema, Service schema, FAQ schema. The structured data Google and AI search systems need.
  • Cloudflare Deployment Set up under your own Cloudflare account. We hand over keys. You own hosting, DNS, and the domain. Forever.
  • Launch & QA Cross-device testing, accessibility audit, PageSpeed pass, and a launch checklist signed off by you before we go live.
  • 30-Day Refinement Post-launch window to tune copy, add pages, fix anything that surfaces after real-world usage. No surprises.
[ 05 ] The Process

From kickoff
to live in 2 weeks.

No mystery timelines. No quarterly reviews where you wonder what we’ve been doing. Four phases over 14 days, daily check-ins, written deliverables at every gate.

01 Days 1–2

Discovery & Mapping

Kickoff call, services audit, competitor sweep, sitemap, content brief. You sign off on the full plan before we write a single line of code.

02 Days 3–7

Design & Build

Design and code happen in parallel, not in waterfall. Service pages, area pages, conversion architecture, schema, mobile pass — all built and ready for your review.

03 Days 8–11

Review & Refine

Your review pass, copy tightening, photo placement, cross-device QA, PageSpeed targets, accessibility audit. Everything tuned before launch.

04 Days 12–14

Launch

Cloudflare deployment under your account, DNS cutover, post-launch monitoring. Then a 30-day refinement window for real-world tuning at no extra cost.

[ 08 ] How We Engage

Project-based.
No retainers.

One project, one fixed engagement, one deliverable. SEO and ongoing optimization are separate monthly services — never bundled in a way that traps you. You can choose to add them, or not.

[ 09 ] Questions

What contractors
ask us most.

If yours isn’t here, ask on the strategy call. We don’t do scripted sales-talk.

How long does the whole thing take?

Two weeks from kickoff to live, broken into four phases over 14 days. Day 1 you sign off on the plan; day 14 your site is live on Cloudflare. We move at this speed because we don’t use WordPress, we don’t hand work to offshore teams, and we don’t bottleneck on bloated processes. The one thing that can stretch the timeline is content delays on your end (photos, service descriptions, etc.) — we’ll flag that early at the kickoff so we both stay on track.

What does it cost?

Most contractor builds fall between $10,000 and $20,000, fixed-price, quoted at the strategy call. Cost depends mostly on number of service pages, service-area pages, and complexity (multi-location, custom integrations, etc.). No hourly billing, no surprise change orders.

What if I already have a website?

Most contractor sites we audit are best replaced rather than retrofitted — the foundation is usually templated WordPress with so many plugins that fixing it costs more than rebuilding clean. Occasionally a site is salvageable, in which case we’ll tell you straight. The audit determines which.

Will I be able to update it myself?

For most contractors the honest answer is: probably not, and that’s actually fine. WordPress sells “easy self-editing” as a feature, but in practice contractors rarely touch their site after launch — and when they do, they break something. We handle content updates as part of monthly maintenance, or via a quick request system. You stay focused on running the business.

If self-editing is critical to you, say so up front. We can build in a lightweight content layer for specific sections (blog posts, team page, etc.) without going full CMS.

What happens if I fire you?

You keep everything: the entire codebase, the Cloudflare account, the domain registration, every password. We hand over a complete handoff package documented well enough that any developer can pick it up. No held hostage code, no proprietary CMS, no leaving you stranded.

Do you handle hosting too?

We set up Cloudflare deployment under your own Cloudflare account — you own the hosting relationship directly. Cloudflare’s Pages tier handles 99% of contractor traffic for free or near-free. Domain registration and DNS sit under your account too. We never resell hosting at a markup.

Do you write the copy and source the photos?

Copy: yes, included. We’ll draft every page based on the discovery session and have you review. Photos: best is real photos from your job sites, your trucks, your crew — we’ll provide a shot list. If you don’t have any, we’ll source high-quality stock or coordinate a half-day shoot (add-on cost).

Do you also do logo design or branding?

Light branding refinements (color palette, typography choices, layout direction) are included. Full identity work (logo design from scratch, brand guidelines, etc.) is a separate engagement and we’d typically refer you to a specialist designer we’ve worked with before.

What about SEO? Is that included?

The site is built SEO-clean from day one — clean schema, fast load, mobile-first markup, service and service-area page structure, proper meta and titles. That’s the foundation. Ongoing SEO (content, link building, rankings work) is a separate monthly engagement — see the SEO for Contractors page for details.
